Moles are pigmented skin changes that are often congenital or develop during the first years of life. Medically, they are referred to as naevi. They can vary in colour, shape and size and commonly appear on the face, neck or other visible areas of the body.
The vast majority of moles are benign. Nevertheless, moles should be monitored regularly, especially if they change over time.
